A TIE-UP between PKT 360zebra eLogistics Sdn Bhd and Global Market Group (GMC) of China will pave the way for stronger manufacturer-to-business (M2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce opportunities between China, Malaysia and Asean.

PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd group chief executive and managing director Datuk Michael Tio is confident that the combined strengths of the two companies will enable manufacturers and traders in China and Malaysia to break down transactional barriers associated with traditional sales channels.

“These manufacturers and traders will be able to reach out to mutual markets and all corners of the globe with ease via cross-border e-commerce,” he says.

Tio remarks that the collaboration will leverage on GMC’s qualification on authentication processes and its online e-commerce platform as well as on PKT 360zebra’s cross-border e-commerce logistics capabilities.

PKT 360zebra is a joint venture between PKT Logistics Group and Los Angeles-based 360zebra Group to undertake e-commerce logistics business in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Through PKT 360zebra, the 360zebra group intends to use Malaysia as its base to serve the Asean market by combining 360zebra’s e-commerce logistics technology and global network with PKT Logistics Group’s resources and network in Malaysia and South-East Asia.

PKT 360zebra signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with GMC in Hangzhou, China on May 11.

The MoU was signed by Tio and 360zebra Group vice-president Benson Wai on behalf of PKT 360zebra and Cheandy Hu, general manager of GMC.

360zebra Group Global E-Fulfilment Marketing Director Bright Zhou also participated in the signing ceremony.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Malaysia Retail Chain Association president Datuk Garry Chua, Malaysian Digital Economy Corp chief operating officer Datuk Ng Wan Peng and PKT Logistics Group chairman Datuk Wira Jalilah Baba.

GMC is a listed leading M2B e-commerce service provider that has developed an online marketplace to link international buyers with reputable Chinese manufacturers. GMC currently has 30,000 certified manufacturer members and 5 million products online.

The 360zebra Group currently provides logistics services for all GMC’s members internationally especially in China, the US and London.

With the signing of this MoU, the 360zebra Group is looking at providing the same reliable logistics support for GMC in the Malaysian and Asean markets through PKT 360zebra.

The 360zebra Group has 16 logistics centres in the US, Europe, Australia, Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and London. Its core strength comes from a developed IT platform which provides an integrated e-commerce fulfilment service covering online transactions to lastmile deliveries.
