KUALA LUMPUR: PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd has bagged the prestigious Emerging Logistics Service Provider of the Year Award by Frost & Sullivan recently at the Frost & Sullivan’s Malaysian Excellence Awards 2011.
The award recognizes a logistics services provider which has done exceptionally well in growing its business with expanding market presence. It is also for a company that shows prudent and sustainable business growth with substantial investment to support its operation and achieve excellence in service offering.
PKT Logistics was selected based on the following criteria, namely investment, market expansion, financial performance and future expansion as well as strategies.
Founded in 1974 in Port Klang, PKT Logistics is a logistics leader in providing customised integrated logistics solutions in the Asean region. The core services such as custom brokerage, international freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution are fully in-house. PKT Logistics have offices in all the main ports in Malaysia, as well as in Bangkok, Jakarta and Seoul.
It conceived the idea of the concept warehouse. Concept warehouse is building with a theme, emphasising on green and environmentally friendly concepts with internationally recognized security features.
Besides the award, the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority has granted PKT Logistics the status of International Integrated Logistics Services (IILS) Provider in 2009.
The PKT group is positioning itself to be a major home grown logistics provider that provides high value logistics services, state of art warehouse infrastructure. It wants to be the first local logistics company to achieve RM1bil in turnover by 2015.
