RESIDENTS of five villages in Shah Alam and friends of PKT Logistics were treated to lunch during the logistic solution company’s Chinese New Year open house celebration recently.

Some 650 guests who attended the open house were entertained by cultural dances, a lion dance and treated to yee sang and an array of Penang-styled hawker food.

Its group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Michael B.Y. Tio said the villages — Kampung Bukit Naga, Kampung Jawa, Kampung Jalan Kebun, Kampung Johan Setia and Kampung Medan – were all situated near thee company’s location, so the company decided to share the festive joy with them.

The occasion was also made special for Tio with the attendance of his former teachers from La Salle Klang.

The teachers joined in the tossing of the yee sang before the lion dance troupe took over the stage with their special performance.

Members of the troupe later guided the lion to greet guests and hand them ang pow packets and Mandarin oranges.

The event, held at the company’s warehouse in Section 32, was also attended by their Facebook and Twitter friends.
