KLANG: The future of Olak players are in good hands.

PKT Logistics Sdn Bhd, their sponsors, have offered up to RM500,000 worth of scholarships to their players and will also offer jobs to some players.

“PKT decided to reward the boys. We were informed about this during our team dinner at Klang Club on Wednesday,” said Olak manager Joseph De Silva.

“This is to show a our gratitude to the players.”

The sum was initially reserved for the five surrounding villages at PKT’s hub in Shah Alam. The scholarship is for deserving students to study at the nearby Advance Learning Centre (ALC).

“The scholarships were not fully utilised and so the group managing director Datuk Michael Tio (pic) decided to open it to the hockey players,” said a PKT spokesperson.
